"Suicide Prevention and Intervention"

Suicide is the 11th ranking cause of death in this country and the 3rd leading cause of death for the young.  This training will cover suicide statistics as they relate to populations that are at risk for suicide.  Also the warning signs of suicide and how to intervene effectively when someone is contemplating taking their own life.  The intervention piece of the program will cover how to get help from someone who is looking for help voluntarily versus not wanting to get help when they are suicidal and the legal areas outlining the difference between a 24-Hour Hold versus a 72-Hour Detention.  Seating for this Learn @ Lunch is limited.
