At Porter-Starke Services, we want to share the latest news, trends and explorations in mental health and wellbeing. We offer training and educational seminars on a range of topics. Presenters include our own highly qualified staff or guests from the local, national or international sector. By providing training and education, Porter-Starke Services aims to grow a more knowledgeable and compassionate community.
EMDR is a trauma therapy developed to relieve the symptoms resulting from a crisis or traumatic experience by using movements of the eyes similar to those which occur naturally in REM sleep. It is typically used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). EMDR is generally built into a larger treatment program.
These FREE, educational presentations focus on current topics and issues related to mental health and addiction. Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) are available through Porter-Starke Services for $5, when applicable. Presentations are typically held every third Tuesday of the month, rotating locations between Valparaiso, Portage, and Knox. Find out more.
Hosted annually by the Porter-Starke Services Foundation, the symposium educates the clinical and general community while raising awareness of mental health and substance abuse issues in our community. Past presenters include Steve Ford, Bill O’Hanlon, and Porter-Starke Services clinicians. Attendees include the general public, business leaders, and clinicians from Indiana, Chicago and Michigan.
