Adolescent Chemical Dependency & Addictions Program

Assessment and Evaluation

A team of chemical dependency professionals gather accurate and thorough information to determine the presenting problem. The team develops an individualized treatment plan or refers the individual to appropriate community-based services.

Program Philosophy

Porter-Starke Services recognizes that chemical dependency is a primary, progressive, and chronic disease. This disease is identifiable, diagnosable, and treatable. Recovery from chemical dependency requires total abstinence from all non-prescribed, mood-altering chemicals. The staff works with families to develop treatment plans that identify strengths, as well as weaknesses, and seeks to build upon the strengths identified. Through genuine care, concern, knowledge, and respect, staff encourages families to recognize the challenge of making responsible choices which are more likely to lead to good health and develop their potential as human beings.

Family Programs

Porter-Starke Services offer therapeutic, educational, and support programs designed to help families more fully understand chemical dependency issues and improve relationships. The program helps family members work through issues associated with having a chemically dependent family member. Families do not need to have an individual in treatment to participate.
