Art of Healing

History of the Event

The inaugural Art of Healing kicked off in 2003, with the name of the event, atmosphere and an auction filled with artwork to reflect both the integral role that art plays in the mental wellness of our area's residents and the important role that mental health treatment services play in any community.

Since that time, the event and the cause have grown in popularity. Nearly $30,000 was raised at the 2009 Art of Healing and it couldn't have been done without the collective generosity and support of local businesses and community members coming together for a fun evening.

2009 Art of Healing Gala

The Porter-Starke Services Foundation hosted its fourth celebrated Art of Healing Gala at the Duneland Falls Banquet & Meeting Center on Saturday, March 7, 2009.

The event featured a Caribbean-themed evening that includes dinner, music, and entertainment and a silent auction of items and artwork.

All proceeds raised from the the event will be placed in the newly created Mental Health Endowment Fund designed for the annual advancement and support of local mental health resources.
