At Porter-Starke Services, we want to provide the best possible services. That includes helping you understand payment for our services. Porter-Starke Services participates in Medicare and Medicaid programs and we have managed care contracts to better serve you, allowing you to take full advantage of your insurance. Providing us with your current insurance information is essential to this process, allowing us to estimate your financial obligations prior to the start of services.

If You Are Insured

We encourage you to contact your insurance company to familiarize yourself with your benefit plan. We communicate with your insurance company to verify coverage, determine in-network status, obtain authorization, identify plan limitations, your co-pay or coinsurance obligations, and confirm if a deductible applies.

Prior to beginning services, you will receive a letter outlining the information we obtained as an estimate of coverage and what you will need to pay at your appointment. Payment is due at the time of service; you are required to pay your co-pay or co-insurance at that time. We will bill your insurance for you and accept assignment of benefits.

The amount that you owe depends upon your insurance plan and the rate negotiated with Porter-Starke Services by your insurance company. We make every attempt to get your service paid for by your insurance company using the prior authorization process to help you use your insurance coverage most effectively. You will receive a monthly statement for these charges. If you receive a statement and are not able to pay the balance in full, please contact us to discuss payment plan options. Remember, insurance companies do not guarantee payment and we are here to help.

If You Are Uninsured

If you lack insurance coverage, please be sure to complete the Declaration of Income form, providing information for all members of the household including income, Food Stamps and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) so that we can consider you for discounted care. We offer a sliding fee discount based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines. Your discounted payment is due at the time of service.

If you do not have insurance and your income does not qualify you for a discount, we offer need-based discounts. This process requires documentation of income and expenses. Please contact us for details on how to apply.
