Adolescence can be tough and we all feel sad sometimes. But if it's happening more often and the severity of those feelings becomes overwhelming, it may be depression.

Common Symptoms of Depression in Adolescents
  • Persistent sadness and hopelessness
  • Agitation, irritability, anger or hostility
  • Lack of enthusiasm or motivation
  • Loss of interest in activities
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Excessive fatigue or tiredness
  • Thoughts about death or suicide
