First Aid
An 8-hour Training Course
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an 8-hour training course that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Each class is specifically designed to help either adults, youth, or veterans. Learn risk factors, warning signs, how to develop an action plan, and the best resources to seek out. Because of MHFA, people in all 50 states are trained how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and addiction. This course is delivered by staff at Porter-Starke Services who are certified Mental Health First Aid instructors.
Adult Mental Health First Aid
Adult MHFA trains you how to help someone 18 and older who may be experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Learn warning signs, risk factors, how to develop an action plan, and how to access appropriate resources.
MHFA for Military Members, Veterans and their Families
MHFA teaches family members and personnel working with military and their families how to engage with and help veterans with mental illness and addictions.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
Youth MHFA is designed for adults who regularly interact with adolescents. Learn how to interact with and help youth who are experiencing mental health issues, addictions or crisis.
